Polyester is the economical alternative to nylon. It has the all of the stylish textures and colors; but it is slightly less durable and less expensive, which is perfect for cases destined for a less than rugged environment.
Polyester, like nylon, can be coated on the backside to provide water resistance. However, if your case needs to survive and protect in a wet or damp environment, neoprene or PVC might be the way to go.
